The Caribbean Chocolate Company

The Caribbean Chocolate Company is known for indulgent, handmade chocolates infused with the goodness of exotic Caribbean accents: heady guava, warm toasted coconut, golden Caribbean rums, pineapple, mango, and ruby-red sorrel. The Cropper Foundation

The Cropper Foundation, founded by Angela Cropper and her late husband John Cropper (in memory of their son who passed away suddenly at the age of twenty), is a non-profit organization promoting environmental consciousness and sustainability. If you're interested in environmental preservation or making a contribution, visit: www.thecropperfoundation.org & www.canooeanoelle.com In the next few days, delegates of the Miss World pageant will be heading to Sanya, China for the contest. But before that, they'll visit popular hot spots in the mainland and even get to peek at the preparations for the 2008 Olympics! Check out the article on page 19 to find out all about our own Miss T&T and be sure to watch her live on December 1st!

Hogwarts

Universal Orlando Resort, in conjunction with Warner Bros. entertainment and J.K. Rowling, is opening a Harry Potter theme park at Universal Islands of Adventure in late 2009. Fans will experience many of the iconic locations in the books and movies such as Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Dumbledore's office, the Forbidden Forest and Hogsmeade village...and just might get a taste of that famous butterbeer!

Artists Levi and Gabrielle

Artists Levi and Gabrielle see a new way to represent the Caribbean in black and white. The couple gets their inspiration from everyday life; they photograph scenery and then digitally transform it into something that expresses their unique creativity. For Gabrielle, her art is for those who love the Caribbean, especially the folks living abroad who crave for a piece of the islands! Visit www.emirco-studios.com for more details.

Calvin French

The name Calvin French is one that’s synonymous with gorgeous photographs. Trinidad-born French has worked with several international magazines including Vogue, GQ, Bazaar, Cosmo, and Gentleman¹s Option and many other publications throughout the Caribbean, not to mention your very own Caribbean Belle! In person, French is as colorful as his photographs in both his mannerisms and speech. The words ‘fabulous’ and the ‘b’ word litter his conversations often before or just after he lets out his raucous cackle of a laugh. His book Saga Boy represents French’s photographic take on the fashionable Caribbean man as seen through his lens.

Joli Cosmetics

What's it all about?

Joli Cosmetics

Joli is a mineral make-up line that's tailored to beautifully enhance the skin tones of Caribbean women. From the four major undertones-golden, warm, cool, and neutral---eome twelve standard shades of mineral foundation that you can get custom-blended to match your complexion, no matter how unusual it is! The Joli mineral make-up line also includes mineral veils, blushes, eye shadows, and lipsticks. Why we're thrilled about Joti! Let's face it. The cosmetic needs of women living in the tropics aren't always satisfied by run-of-the-mill offerings. In addition to satisfying the need for unusual shades of make-up, loli also contains a natural SPF to protect you from the sun's harmful rays, and has a much longer shelf-life and staying power-simply ideal for our humid climate.

Joli Cosmetics

We're also happy about it being allnatural, because that can't ever be bad for your skin. Made with high-grade minerals found naturally in the earth, the make-up contains no additives, preservatives, fillers, perfumes or chemicals. It's non-comedogenic, which means it won't clog your pores or cause acne, and it’s also very gentle for even the most sensitive skin. To top it all off, we’re also really proud that Joli was launched by Trinidad and Tobago’s very own Jamie Rampersad! Must-have goodies from the Joli line In addition to getting your perfect shade of foundation, be sure to try out Joli’s mascara primer, eye shadow primer, and lip primer. These products battle against our climate’s humidity so that your make-up lasts much longer! To get your Joli mineral make-up, call Jamie at 663-0285 or email her at jaimer@carib-link.net
